Just BBQ in Ventura

Food is DELICIOUS. Every. Single. Time. They usually have a line waiting to order. The tri tip is always tender, usually always juicy (one time it was a bit dryer than usual). The BBq sauce is very flavorful, the consistency is not thick. The flavor is a tiny bit sweet with just the right spicy kick. I love this place but they do need to improve their customer service. A smile here and there from the employees wouldn't hurt.

Actually visited Thai Star and may I recommend pumpkin curry extra spicy with sticky rice. You will not be let down. Best pumpkin curry in Oxnard/Ventura.

It used to be good but not anymore

To Management, This was the first time I ordered from your restaurant. I was looking forward to a tasty rib experience. I was so disappointed. The ribs were extremely dry. The meat was tough. I can’t understand why you would allow such a bad example of your food to be delivered to a customer.

They offer a nice variety of fresh food. I liked eating here. Staff members are always helpful, pricing is convenient and the place is always neat.

It says they’re open & they are definitely closed. It’s Friday 5:53 pm ..... people don’t eat in the evening?

The trip sandwiches are phenomenal. I've been going here for years and its a must have.

Our yearly pilgrimage to Just bbq on our way to visit the overwintering Monarch butterflies in Pismo Beach. The restaurant is closed. It's a very sad day. Been eating here for over 20 years. I guess the new owner shaba dabba doo ran it into the ground. I can still feel the burn of their hot sauce and taste the fire grilled bread. I am very sad.

This is my favorite spot to come get some solid bbq and best sauce I ever had but I guess they closed down out of nowhere unfortunately.. used to come all the way from Santa Barbara but now i guess it ain’t an option anymore 😔 I don’t know what anyone is complaining about in terms of service or the meat being dry or sauce being off, sounds like a bunch of crybabies to me kus it was always top notch! I got my fingers crossed in hope that you guys make it back on the map and you ain’t out of business for good !

I write this with sadness. I have been coming here for years. I came for the tender meat, the hot sauce and the service. And now we are no longer coming back because of the dry meat, and the service. I do feel like I am bothering the workers by ordering food. The wait time is ridiculous and the service is so slow it is painful. I asked for salad because there was none in the fridge and the guy told me to ask the other guy for it. He came out with only two knowing there are other customers who might need some too. They also run out of meat regularly. Once the guy said it was because it was close to closing time. Closing time was an 1 and 30 mins away! Another time I was over charged too. It seems like there is an issue every time I go. I miss the old days. Only a miracle can fix these issues!

The BBQ here is always delicious especially the hot/heated served bbq sauce. Service on the other hand can be spotty, example: each time I've personally came here, it feels like there's a sense of needless attitude. One time I brought my wife and mother, although I made eye contact with each of the workers, nobody would acknowledge us as we stood at the front for at least 5mins? I won't personally go back in person, but I ALWAYS look forward to my coworkers going so they can pick me up my fix of delicious bbq🤷‍♂️.

Just BBQ is bomb. The sauce is amazing. I wish they season their tri-tip a little bit more it would be nice to have a little seasoning with the sauce and the meat. I love that they added combo to the menu.

This restaurant provides fantastic service as well as yummy menu. My favourite spot around town. The drinks and food served fast and the rates were economical. Recommended.

My preferred place for tasty bbq. Great location to chill, eat some good food. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.

Expected a little bit of tri tip when I ordered boy was I wrong loved the tri tip will definitely come again!

2019: Annual visit to Just BBQ. Tri-tip tender and flavorful as ever. The coleslaw is still so yum! A little disappointed there's no sweet potato pie, but if I call ahead next time, they'll make me one.Love. This. PlaceThe hot bbq sauce is REALLY hot!. We loved the brisket. Just as good as when I used to eat it when I live in Ventura years ago. Don't shy away just because its in a strop mall next to a church. Delicious! Highly recommend.

Been coming here since I was a kid, always a had the best service and food quality. Came here recently since under new ownership and the staff was super unfriendly and rude. Made me feel like I was an inconvenience, the guy in line in front of me was scared to ask for bbq sauce. The food may still be good but the fact the service isn’t, made me cancel my order. Sadly my time with just BBQ has come to an end. RIP.
